Yarn Care Guide
Yarn Care Guide
Your handmade Mojioo pieces deserve the best care. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your crochet projects — from pet outfits to matching sets — looking beautiful wash after wash.
🧶 Reading Yarn Labels
Always check the yarn label before washing. Look for the fiber content and care symbols. When in doubt, hand wash in cold water.
🫧 Washing Instructions
Hand Wash (Recommended)
- Use cool or lukewarm water (max 30°C / 86°F)
- Add a small amount of gentle wool or delicate detergent
- Gently squeeze — never wring or twist
- Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear
Machine Wash
- Only if the yarn label specifically allows it
- Use a mesh laundry bag to protect your piece
- Select the delicate or wool cycle with cold water
- Use a gentle, wool-safe detergent
🌬️ Drying Tips
- Gently press out excess water with a clean towel — do not wring
- Lay flat to dry on a clean, dry towel away from direct sunlight
- Reshape while damp to maintain the original form
- Never tumble dry unless the label says it's safe
- Avoid hanging wet crochet pieces — they can stretch out of shape
🗂️ Storage Tips
- Store finished pieces folded flat in a cool, dry place
- Use breathable cotton bags or pillowcases — avoid plastic bags
- Add cedar balls or lavender sachets to deter moths naturally
- Keep unused yarn in a sealed bag away from dust and moisture
🐾 Caring for Pet Outfits
- Spot clean minor dirt with a damp cloth between washes
- Wash after every 3–5 wears, or sooner if soiled
- Check for loose ends or stretched stitches after each wash and repair promptly
💡 Pro Tips
- Pilling: Use a fabric shaver to gently remove pills from wool or acrylic blends
- Blocking: After washing, pin your piece to shape on a foam mat and let it dry for a perfect finish
- Color care: Wash dark colors separately for the first few washes to prevent color transfer
